Ponchatoula Prep Academy began its journey in June 1994 when founder Donna Peterson opened a certified home early learning center, responding to a growing need in the community.
By 1995, Kids World Daycare & Early Learning Center was born, moving into a dedicated facility by 1997, where it provided a safe, loving, and educational environment for countless children over the years.
After three decades of dedicated service, Mrs. Donna Peterson entrusted Allie and Hayden Hutches to carry on the legacy of Kids World. Allie is a former Kids World team member and an LSU graduate in Early Childhood Education. With hands-on experience as a first and second grade teacher and certifications in Montessori and the Science of Reading, Allie returned to lead the center in providing high-quality early education. In January 2024, Kids World rebranded to Ponchatoula Prep Academy to better reflect its commitment to academic growth alongside play and exploration, serving children from 6 weeks through Pre-K and offering before & after school care, holiday care, and summer camps.
With 15 years of experience in early childhood education, Mrs. Allie is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2015 with a degree in early childhood education and earned her teaching certification that same year. She began her career teaching first and second grade at Hammond Westside Montessori, where she spent eight years and received specialized training in Montessori education and certification in the Science of Reading.
In a full-circle moment, Mrs. Allie had the privilege of becoming the owner and director of Kids World Early Learning Center—the same center where she worked during high school and college. Her husband, an engineer, is actively involved in the center, and together they advocate for parent choice in education. They have three children: Kora, Isla, and Duke.
Inspired by her mother and grandmother, both educators, Mrs. Allie is passionate about early childhood education and believes deeply in learning through play and hands-on activities. She is committed to guiding, loving, and supporting the students and teachers at Ponchatoula Prep Academy, nurturing a community of curious, engaged learners.
