Our Infant Program at Ponchatoula Prep Academy provides a nurturing, individualized environment that promotes each child’s growth and development. Our caring teachers follow each baby’s personal schedule for feeding, play, and rest, ensuring consistent and comforting routines. Each infant receives warm, attentive care, with constant monitoring for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing.
To further enhance early learning, we incorporate the Frog Street curriculum, a research-based framework that supports five essential developmental domains: language, cognitive, social and emotional, physical, and approaches toward learning. Aligned with Head Start School Readiness Goals, this curriculum offers complete support for caregivers, enabling them to create meaningful interactions and activities that promote each infant’s development through music, eye contact, engaging toys, and verbal interaction. In our Infant Program, every child experiences a safe, loving environment tailored to foster foundational growth for future learning.
Our Toddler Program at Ponchatoula Prep Academy is built around the Frog Street Toddler curriculum, a year-round program grounded in the latest scientific research on early brain development. This curriculum is designed to enhance the natural joy of childhood while empowering caregivers to inspire curiosity and exploration. With an emphasis on Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline®, Frog Street Toddler provides a nurturing framework that supports toddlers in developing key skills across five developmental domains: physical, cognitive, social-emotional, language, and approaches toward learning.
Daily routines—such as diaper changing, transitions, and outdoor play—are enriched with purposeful activities, and differentiated instruction options ensure that each child’s unique learning needs are met. Toddlers in our program enjoy access to a variety of centers that support growth and engagement, including blocks, soft and large manipulative toys, musical instruments, physical activities, and both indoor and outdoor play spaces. Through these enriching experiences, children are encouraged to progress in their development while building foundational skills in a warm and supportive environment.
Our Two-Year-Old Program at Ponchatoula Prep Academy builds on the foundation of the Frog Street curriculum, emphasizing hands-on exploration and discovery in alignment with the latest early brain development research. Children in this age group have access to a variety of engaging centers that support their growth, including blocks, housekeeping, books, music, dramatic play, manipulative play, art, physical activities, and outdoor play.
This is also the stage where we introduce potty training, supporting each child with individualized strategies to make the transition as smooth as possible. Our dedicated potty monitor assists with this process, tailoring methods such as charts, rewards, and timers to each child’s unique needs. Through a nurturing environment and carefully planned routines, our Two-Year-Old Program encourages independence, curiosity, and developmental progress at each child’s own pace.
Our Three-Year-Old Program at Ponchatoula Prep Academy is designed to support the rapidly developing cognitive, physical, and social skills of three-year-olds, as identified by early childhood brain research. This program uses the Frog Street Threes curriculum, which provides intentional instruction to guide children ages 36-48 months along their path to kindergarten readiness.
Children in this age group enjoy a variety of centers that encourage exploration and discovery through play, including blocks, housekeeping, books, music, dramatic play, art, indoor/outdoor physical activities, and outdoor play. Frog Street Threes offers easy-to-use, research-based activities that support all developmental domains and optimize key windows of opportunity for growth. With a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning through Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline®, our teachers create a nurturing environment where children can build confidence, curiosity, and essential skills for future success.
Our Pre-K 4 Program at Ponchatoula Prep Academy is focused on preparing children for kindergarten with a balanced, research-based approach to math and literacy. Using the Eureka Math curriculum, we introduce math concepts through carefully sequenced, engaging modules that make math both enjoyable and accessible. This holistic curriculum is designed to build foundational math skills through structured progressions, supported by professional development, learning materials, and a strong community of support for our educators.
For language and literacy, we implement the DIG curriculum, which addresses the growing expectations for Pre-K learning. DIG’s intentional design combines developmentally appropriate instruction with purposeful play, helping children develop essential reading and writing skills while still embracing the joy of early learning. This balanced approach ensures that all children in our Pre-K 4 Program gain the skills and confidence they need for kindergarten readiness, while our teachers are fully equipped to guide and support each student’s journey
